We are so excited to tell everyone; We chose One World Village. After looking at so many options we finally narrowed down where we want to buy land. We want to be close to San Ignacio so we made the decision One World would be our World. We started looking at the available lots of land and started to select certain lots that interested us.
Raymond reached out to the developer to get more information. We heard back pretty quickly. We had several conversations with Bart regarding all our questions and concerns. He gave us an updated list of what lots were available. Now we need to narrow it down to 1. This was not an easy task especially since we could not go and physically see the land. However once we got it narrowed down they did video walk throughs for us which was extremely nice of them.
We started out with roughly 7 lots we had interest in and then slowly started narrowing them down. Bart was very easy to talk to and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. He made us feel at ease with our decision. Even the people already living there were an asset as some of them reached out to Raymond once they found out we were buying land and would eventually be their neighbours. We finally were able to narrow our choices for land down to 3 Lots.
Lot 27, Was a small lot in the middle area of the community. Meaning it was not as high up as other lots. There were some Mayan mounds on the side of the lot and it seemed to have a lot of trees that would need to be cleared. Nothing to concerning. They all had access to water and hydro. I did like that it was close to the trail leading to the river below.
Lot 28, Sitting right next to 27 and sharing a pretty decent size Mayan Mound. It too had a lot of trees from the pictures and walk through we saw. The one negative we saw about 27 and 28 was the fact there was a shared Mayan Mound so it concerned us that if we purchased either lot whomever purchased the other would want to remove the mound and we did not want that. As we hope to keep it. These lots are right in the main traffic areas of the village. While all lots are not sold yet and there is not a large amount of homes here we saw that as a little con for us.
Lot 33, Backing off of lot 28 was lot 33. this was towards the end of the Cul D Sac further up the hill. This lot was also pretty much at the end of the development. Raymond cracked a joke stating “Oh Great we will be the last one for snow clearing.” The videos and pictures made me lean towards this lot but we still didn’t know which one we really wanted to invest in. The one other thing about lot 33 was the fact it was close to the green space park that overlooked the river. It too had its own Mayan mound in the front of the lot.
We have a lot of decisions to make. Hourly talks and discussions about each lot. watching and rewatching the video walk throughs. We do not want to make this decision lightly as this will be eventually the area of Belize we will be living in.
