We arrived late in the afternoon to Cajoma Villa. You walk down a small walkway and right away you notice the butterflies around the step. The deck out front has a nice sitting area with a table and chairs. There is a big heavy wooden door that you walk through to get to the inside.
As I first enter I am speechless. This is one of the tidiest and beautiful places I have ever stayed at. You immediately walk into the living space. There is a loveseat and an antique piano. There is a place to lay your keys etc on. You have to your right a small dining area accompanied with a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling. There is a dark wooden beam on the ceiling to match the same dark wood on the stairway.
The kitchen is small but very functional. Everywhere you look there are windows or screen doors which makes the home look much bigger. The contemporary look makes the home even more welcoming. From the Mayan artwork on the walls to the little antiques all over the place I am in love with this home. The bedroom is big and spacious. They have a wardrobe for hanging your clothes. There is a Tv in the bedroom but we never even turned it on.
The bathroom is just as pristine as the rest of the home. The shower has a rainfall faucet and is simply a walk in with a shower curtain separating the rest of the bathroom. They have set out more than enough towels and toiletries for us.
I walked out to the back deck and it overlooks a beautiful backyard. The neighbour’s have some chickens and a rooster. Their dog barked a little at us but went on about his business. There are 2 dogs in the backyard that we assume the neighbour owns. The only thing missing on the back deck is a seating area to enjoy the sun when it comes out later in the day. There are fruit trees in the back and birds up in the trees everywhere. This place made me feel completely at home.
If you want to be around locals and be inserted into the community this is an airbnb you want to check out. I really did not want to leave.
