Introduction
From the moment we landed in Belize, it felt like everything fell into place. Our flight was smooth, and the arrival process was surprisingly easy. We had all of our documents ready, which definitely helped — immigration and customs took just about one hour from touchdown to walking out the doors, luggage in hand. A deep breath, a warm breeze, and just like that… Belize became real. 🌴✨
With the travel day behind us, we headed to our first stop: Sophair, a charming studio apartment right in the center of Belize City’s business district. It was exactly where we needed to be, since we had a checklist of tasks to tackle during our first few days — including one of our biggest purchases yet: buying a car. 🚗💸
The apartment itself was small but spotless, cozy, and equipped with everything we needed to get settled. At first, it felt like the perfect beginning to our new chapter.
But then came a twist. 😅
The first location, Sophair
Our first stop in Belize was a beautiful studio apartment in Belize City, tucked right into the heart of the business district — exactly where we needed to be. We had a list of things to take care of, including some important purchases in the city… one of them being a pretty big one: buying a car 🚗💸
The studio we booked was small but spotless, cozy, and stocked with everything we could possibly need. At first, it was perfect… until we discovered a little surprise. 😅
There was construction happening on-site, and the workers were using our back patio area as their lunch spot and workspace. For most travelers, it might not be a huge deal, but since I work online and needed privacy and quiet for my social media channels, it became a real challenge.
So, we reached out to the Airbnb hosts — politely explaining the situation and hoping that another space might be available.
And let me tell you…
We received one of the most professional and thoughtful responses we’ve ever experienced from any accommodation host. 🙌
They asked to meet with us in person and said they wanted to offer a solution — possibly even an upgrade. I assumed that meant maybe moving us to the upstairs unit in the same building.
Well… I was VERY wrong. 😂
Instead, they upgraded us to an entirely different property — a stunning location called:

DI Beach House
Let’s just say… the upgrade was a total game-changer. The beginning of an entirely new chapter in our Belize adventure.
We followed our host just outside the city limits. After a short drive down a narrow dirt road surrounded by lush greenery, we arrived at one of the most breathtaking hidden gems I’ve ever seen in Belize. 🌿✨
There it was — Di Beach House — tucked away in nature and sitting directly on its own private beach. No crowds. No noise. Just ocean, palm trees, and paradise.
We climbed the stairway to the second floor, and the moment I opened the door, I felt like I had stepped straight into my dream home.
The space was open-concept and beautifully designed, with a bright, spacious living area and a stunning, large kitchen and dining room, perfect for cooking, working, and relaxing. The home had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with the master bedroom being both roomy and incredibly cozy — the kind of place you instantly feel at peace in. 🛏️💗
And then — the balcony.
I stepped outside and was greeted by a panoramic ocean view that looked like it belonged on a postcard. Waves rolling in, palm leaves swaying, ocean breeze moving through the air… it was absolutely magical. 🌊🌴
The best part?
This property wasn’t even listed for rent yet — we were among the very first guests to ever stay there. And honestly, I never wanted to leave. It felt like our own quiet world.
Days were filled with iguanas sunbathing nearby, birds flying overhead, and at night, we watched crabs scurrying across the beach and ships glowing in the distance as they entered Belize’s port. It was peaceful in a way that’s hard to describe — the kind of peace that resets your soul.
This place didn’t just feel like somewhere we stayed.
It felt like somewhere that changed us.
