I am back from spending 3 weeks in Belize. Some of you may have wondered where have the blogs been? I had stated through social media that I would write about my journey while there. Well that was my intent but my Macbook had other plans for me, basically telling me I need a vacation. So it went to sleep and never woke up.
I was setting up video from our Zip-lining adventure and it shut down and would not come back on. The battery died and would not charge back up. So I decided I would write notes and write everything once I got back to Newfoundland. Well I am back and with a new battery in my mac it still will not come on. We now have to bring it to be looked at. So I logged onto another computer and started to write.
This vacation was jammed packed with so much. We also had my Dad and his partner Amelia with us. You may see them in some of the images I took while on our excursions. We did do a repeat on some of the things from last trip. The second time we noticed things we missed from the first. I want to touch base a little more on several topics that I have written about going into more detail.
We travelled to San Ignacio first. Then travelled up North to Orchid Bay for a few days. We made the trek back to the west. Spending the remainder of our vacation in an Eco Lodge just on the outskirts of Santa Elena. I have So much to chat about. We talked to builders, contractors, and architects. We even had a chance to look at some homes that some of the companies built. After seeing a couple we had some rethinking to do with what we had originally thought we wanted.
Some quick highlights. We got to meet the Howler monkeys out in their natural habitat. I finally got to hear them and man it was amazing especially being up so close. We went River fishing in Orange Walk, Visited several Mayan sites, Had a tour of the Botanic gardens, Spent a morning at a butterfly farm, zip lined over the jungle. These exursions are only to name a few things that we did while in Belize. I got to meet another lady from Instagram and talk about her start up business. We spent time at Wine Smith and visited so many food establishments. We spent time up at our land, met our neighbour and went to lunch. I taught myself how to swim and I went on hikes around our property.
We had some travel issues that I am going to talk about in detail this time. Noting travel out of Newfoundland during the winter is always a struggle. We did get to spend a day with my brother and his family. However we did lose 2 days with them which was very disappointing.
On the way back we had a full day to entertain ourselves at the airport; but we made the best of it. Now I am home and finally catching up on some sleep. As always I am dreaming of when I can go back to a place I now consider my second home. For all of you that we met on this journey thank you all for making this trip even more special then the last. We loved the last 3 weeks of beautiful Belize. I hope you all enjoy the blogs as I go into detail about everything we saw and did this past trip.
